I received this book free from Thomas Nelson’s Book Blogging Program called BookSneeze in exchange for my honest review.  The book that I received to review is the 528 page “Curiosities of the Civil War” by Webb Garrison.

I chose to review this book because I am a big fan of history and especially Civil War history.  I found this book to be a very enjoyable book.  For those that like to read long periods of time, this probably isn’t a book necessarily for you.  However, I like to pick up books for short periods of time as I’m going to bed or between tasks.  This book is perfect for that sort of reading and is perfect for a coffee table.  The book not meant to be read chapter by chapter as a novel or in a linear fashion.  This book is a bunch of short information stories written under sectional and chapter headlines such as “No Two Military Events Were Identical” and “The Unusual and the Bizarre”.  This book is filled with little known and interesting information that the average Civil War history buff would love.  I many times found myself annoying my wife during her reading with bits of information that I found fascinating.
